About this site
A finding aid for the public press of the Workers Socialist League, not an edition of it.
What is here
Socialist Press: 256 issues and supplements, from no. 1 (6 February 1975) to no. 254 (9 July 1981). Nos. 5 and 223 have not been found. Eleven issues the Encyclopedia of Trotskyism On-Line does not hold are hosted here from scans in the Red Mole collection. Trotskyism Today: all thirteen pull-out supplements and all four issues of the magazine, with their scans. Where the date on an issue's masthead and the date in ETOL's filename disagree, the masthead is followed; each such issue carries a note.
The League fused with the International-Communist League in July 1981. The fused organisation's paper, Socialist Organiser, belonged to the wider Socialist Organiser Alliance and is not included here. Its magazine, Workers Socialist Review (1981–1984), is listed under documents. The League's internal bulletins are not published here.
The text
The scans carry no usable text of their own. The text here was read from them in September and October 2026 by machine (macOS Vision, reading each column separately) and has not been corrected. It is here so that the papers can be searched. For anything you quote, read the scan.
Credits
Most Socialist Press scans are the work of the Encyclopedia of Trotskyism On-Line and the Splits and Fusions project; the documents list draws on ETOL's Workers Socialist League section. This site is part of the Red Mole archives.
