and on weekends frog for their card. ON February 25 about 3,000 people came out on the YOPs lobby of Parliament, called by the YS: About 1,000 came from the Right to Work Campaign, who held.a march around London in the days running up to the lobby to highlight the fight of YOPs workers to From the platform of the rally Tony Benn and Dennis Skinner kept their comments strictly on the Tories and never mentioned what the last Labour government did for YOPs or what the next one should do. The recommendations of this Commission are likely to become law later this year, when the Tories have worked out what strengthening of the 1936 Public Order Act they want and whether they should have a new Riot Act or not. The Tories are taking chances. no They'll all behind have bars!

TV cameras present. ONE year ago, at YS national conference, a delegate from Coventry North East YS spoke of increased racist attacks locally and nationally. The motion calling for self defence now was lost. Ironically, and tragically, the day before, Satnam Singh Gill had been brutally murdered by racists the busy shopping centre.
Satnam was one of 24 racist murder victims killed between January 1 and July 18 1981.
In January, 13 young black people were killed the New Cross Massacre. In Coventry, in July Amal Dharry was stabbed to death by a young racist who "killed a Paki for a f5 bet' and in London Fenton Ogbogbo was stabbed to death in a chip shop.
Also in July of that year, Mrs Khan and her three young children were burned to death by racist petrol bombs. Two weeks later, Charaun Kaur, a disabled woman, was also burned to death by an arsonist.
These are only the tip of the iceberg, of course. Hundreds of racist attacks take place monthly.
Racist attacks, like sexist attacks, are all too often treated with indifference, ignored in a society which condones racism. This indifference too often is found in the labour movement.

As Class Fighter supporters we don't think the black and antiracist community can rely on the police to protect them against racist or fascist attacks. Why not?
Firstly, the police force, regardless of their' origins, are not _our police force. Even though we or our parents pay for them through the rates, we have no say, control or restraint in what they do.
We may think they operate in our interest, but they don't. Just look at their role in differentl areas.
