The 18 TASS members have produced a detailed document countering management - i closure proposals and justifying the expansion of the design office.
This has been circulated to all TASS organised offices and through the shop floor organisation represented in the GKN Workers Association.
Last Tuesday a demonstration of 80 TASS members outside GKN's head office demanded the opening of the böoks and the dropping of the closure threat.
The demonstration | has been used to mobilise a committment to industrial action in support of jobs from other TASS offices in GKN.
The members have thrown out a pay off deal of up to £4,000 for 15 years service but as more find alternative jobs, pressure for a settlement is growing.
The coming week will see whether the promises of industrial action can be made a reality and the dispute escalated to a level where GKN can be forced to back down.
