The National Council for Civil Liberties and the Campaign for Homosexual Equality have joined protests about the confidential instructions to doctors at immigration points empowering them to refuse admission on grounds of "sexual abnormality"
The instructions, revealed last week by the Guardian, do not apply to people "of high standing international repute"
Nor, needless to say, do they apply equally to black and white would-be immigrants. Earlier this year the long standing practice of immigration officials conducting "virginity tests" solely on Asian women was also blown in the Guardian, and led to a Labour government decision to end such tests.
•While these abuses" are bewailed in the liberal press, however, the combination ot sexism and racism in the immigration laws is being perpetuated by the Tories' moves to ban the entry of male fiances of Asian resident Britain.
Deportations of "illegal" immigrants are also being stepped up, while the Tories prepare new racist immigration:
The labour movement must mobilise in support of the victims of such legislation, fighting for an end to all immigration laws and the removal of those Labour leaders who uphold them. IF SO NICO the 'Persons Unknown' last July PHOTO: Mi ike Sheridan.
