The Tory government in Britain has refused to grant visas to many prisoners and others in danger from the repression.
The Committee for Human Rights in Uruguay has called in particular for individuals, community groups, trade union branches, etc., to adopt prisoner Alma Rodriguez Vignant and press for her to be allowed into this country:
Jailed for seven years, Alma has been severely tortured.
Although British embassy staff told her in prison that the British government was doing all it could to secure her release, Timothy Raison, Home Office he hater, eluctantly decide hot. to give her a visa"
The Uruguay Committee is calling for adoptions to be notified to Nicolas. Bidley, minister responsible for Latin America, or to the Home Office.
