In the January issue of tionale (No. 4, page 17) there is an item of considerable importance with respect to the method of the FI(IC).

In a • sustained polemic against the Bolivian POR, Luis Favre reproduces several quotes from an interview with Guillermo Lora, leader of the POR, to "prove" that Lora expected the military coup of last year to be 'populist'.

What is particularly interesting about the central quote in Favre's argument is that by translating the third person (he') in Spanish to the first (T) in French, Lora's presentation ot dictator Garcia's position is translated into his own!

Thus, the original Spanish (Agence Latinoamericane d'Information, Quebec 13/6/80, p.266) reads. "He has already said that the coup d'etat will be to defend democracy."

The FI(IC) on the other hand render this in French as: "T have already said that..."

No other part of the quote is changed If this is a 'mistake' it is an unusually precise one; if it is not it heralds a tendency towards criminal misrepresentation that outstrips even Gerry Healy.

The FI(IC) must publish an immediate clarification and withdrawal. Lambert DID YOU VOTE FOR REAGANI OLD TIMER?
