A national demonstration is being organised by the National Co-ordinating Committee against the Cuts in the NHS (formerly the Medical Committee Against Private Practice) together with NALGO.
It has been organised in opposition to all the proposed cuts in the National Health Service, and other Public Services and is calling for the abolition of private practice.
The weakness of the demonstration is the lack of political directive. There are no slogans which criticise the 'left" MPs who are not willing to fight the rightwing proposals of the present administration.
The WSL. however, will give full support . to this important demonstration fighting the cuts in the dublic services. We call on all our members and sup porti tr attend this demonstra tion. Thi main slogans will be:
No to the cuts!
End private practice!
For a sliding scale of spending!
Call emergency Labour Party and TUC conferences!
The demonstration will assemble at 12.30 pm on Sunday 11th. April at Hyde Park Corner and will march to Trafaigar Square for a Rally at 4.00 pm.
