Just dropping a line about the LPYS Summer Camp last August in the Forest of Dean.

In past years, the lovely countryside which the camp site is set in has been marr by only one thing - the presence of Militant, who seem intent on running an official LPYS camp as their own little family affair (and in some cases I do mean family affair) with opposing tendencies in the YS such as Class Fighter, or just individuals, getting no chance to air their views properly - in the large debates and rallies.

This year, mercifully, it was different. A sizeable CF contingent of over 50 comrades, as well as quite a few people we only met for the first time there, were really able to shake things up a bit.

CF, with its own series of meetings not dealt with in the official programme (you know, silly irrelevant issues like this summer's riots and the arrest of 3,000 young people; gays; an eye-witness report on the hu strike campaign etc e last injected a bit o and politics into a n ally mediocre week. Hun Fu.

Next year we hol be far more organist with many more com! there - and our owi ilitec for socials LICS 1V1 JULINI What do other CF : orters think and r anyone be prepare help in starting no organise for it? F let me know, c/o Fighter.

The public meeting was an attempt to draw more black women together in the fight against racism. Recently a bunch of racists came out of the Topshop (a YOPS centre) in Foleshill and beat up an Asian woman just outside her house. As Asian women are rarely allowed to go out to work, being in the home makes them as vulnerable, if not more so, than men - especially to petrol bomb attacks.

Jean, a post office worker, made a comment about a previous antiracist meeting. •There were only a handful of meeting - remember Mrs. Desai or the Chix women - even the. Rally against Racist Attacks, which was led meeting had properly finished - let's hope they got the message.
